The Twenty-Third Annual International Workshop on the History and Philosophy of Science

The Cohn Institute Tel Aviv University, The Edelstein Center, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and the Van Leer Institute of Jerusalem are organizing a workshop "Transformations of Lamarckism". The workshop celebrates the 200th anniversary of the publication of Lamarck’s Philosophie Zoölogique, a book that has had an enduring impact on both biological and sociological thought. By bringing together historians,
philosophers and biologists concerned with present-day issues in biology, the workshop will reappraise the historical and contemporary significance of Lamarckism. A special session will be devoted to future perspectives.
