Abstract
Though Darwinian theory dramatically revolutionized biological understanding, its strictly biological focus has resulted in a widening conceptual gulf between the biological and physical sciences. In this paper we strive to extend and reformulate Darwinian theory in physicochemical terms so it can accommodate both animate and inanimate systems, thereby helping to bridge this scientific divide. The extended formulation is based on the recently proposed concept of dynamic kinetic stability and data from the newly emerging area of systems chemistry. The analysis leads us to conclude that abiogenesis and evolution, rather than manifesting two discrete stages in the emergence of complex life, actually constitute one single physicochemical process. Based on that proposed unification, the extended theory offers some additional insights into life's unique characteristics, as well as added means for addressing the three central questions of biology: what is life, how did it emerge, and how would one make it? +++++

Contrariando a afirmação retórica bombástica da Nomenklatura científica, Pross afirma no abstract deste artigo que o foco estritamente biológico resultou em uma ampla diferença conceitual entre as ciências biológicas e físicas. Como a Síntese Evolutiva Moderna - neodarwinismo - é uma teoria científica morta desde os anos 1980s (Stephen Jay Gould, um evolucionista honesto!!!).
Apesar das muitas ações para salvar a cara de Darwin de uma vergonhosa falência epistêmica, de pés juntos e dedos cruzados a Nomenklatura científica afirmava não existir crise na teoria da evolução, que todos os cientistas eram e são unânimes em afirmar o fato, Fato, FATO da evolução - o que vimos nas últimas décadas do século 20 foi o acúmulo de uma montanha de evidências negativas colocando em cheque aspectos teóricos fundamentais quando submetidos ao rigor do CONTEXTO DE JUSTIFICAÇÃO TEÓRICA.
Bem, aqui neste blog há muito se anunciou e se anuncia uma iminente e eminente mudança teórica em biologia evolucionária. Aqui você ficou sabendo que está sendo elaborada uma nova teoria geral da evolução - a SÍNTESE EVOLUTIVA AMPLIADA. Pasme, devido àquela montanha de evidências negativas, esta nova teoria evolucionária, contrariando a Darwin, NÃO SERÁ SELECIONISTA, e pasme mais ainda, irá incorporar alguns ASPECTOS LAMARCKISTAS. Mas ela será anunciada pela Nomenklatura científica somente em 2020.
Você aprendeu na universidade que a ciência abomina o vazio teórico. Pergunta causticante deste blogger: Sob qual referencial teórico está se fazendo biologia evolucionária? Ou a Biologia não precisa de Darwin para ser a ciência que descreve a diversidade e complexidade da vida?
Bem, Pross disse que existe uma ampla diferença conceitual entre as ciências biológicas e físicas, e que com a sua formulação teórica considerando a abiogênese e evolução como um único processo físicoquímico, nós poderemos explicar o que é a vida, como surgiu e como pode ser feita.
