About the Author
Dr. Stephen C. Meyer received his Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge in the philosophy of science and is the director of the Center for Science and Culture at the Discovery Institute in Seattle. Darwin considerava a gravidade que a Explosão Cambriana oferecia à sua teoria da evolução: ela não seria corroborada no contexto de justificação teórica. Mas esse reconhecimento de Darwin era apenas retórica. Apesar da Explosão Cambriana, Darwin e discípulos desde 1859 fazem de conta que esse fenômeno biológica nada representa contra a teoria da evolução. Isso me fez lembrar uma frase dita por Dobzhansky no Brasil quando soube de seus alunos de Genética na USP que as descobertas das pesquisas deles com as Drosophila melanogaster não correspondiam às expectativa teóricas: Evidências, que se danem as evidências, o que vale é a teoria!!!
